Job Support & Assistance

Career guidance and support services offered to our CertTESOL graduates

We provide comprehensive job placement assistance and support to our graduates who are hired by schools to provide Native English Teachers (NETs) to kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong.

Partnerships and networks

We have tie-ups with over 1000 schools and organisations in the region, including the Hong Kong EDB, Macau DSEJ and Beijing Education Examinations Authority.

Recognition

The Trinity CertTESOL is approved by the Education Bureau as a necessary qualification for the NET Scheme. The Certificate is also recognised by the British Council, the International House and other large-scale, reputable English learning institutes.

Everybody can teach

Regardless of nationality, as long as you are near-native with a recognised TEFL/TESOL qualification, you are qualified as an ESL teacher in learning centres and local schools in Hong Kong and basically anywhere in the world.

Professional development & access to jobs

In the last week of the course, we run two hour-long sessions about professional development in the TESOL industry and career opportunities that are available, and EFA has direct connections with a large number of schools Hong Kong-wide, providing supply, part-time and full-time teachers for different types of contract.

We have a department in our centre specifically devoted to teacher recruitment, so there is a lot of support available through us for this.

Our teachers are highly sought after

Our graduates are hired by schools to provide Native English Teachers (NETs) for full time and part time positions, short courses and (local) teacher training workshops to Kindergartens, Primary and Secondary schools in Hong Kong.

We recruit NETs and Teacher Trainers as sub-contractors to teach these classes. You are usually provided with all the lesson materials unless specified, in which case, you will be paid for creating materials.

Teachers hired throughout the year

There are full-time and part-time NET positions during the academic year (generally September - May/June) and EFA usually recruits from June through September although they occasionally become available during the academic year.

We also have many short courses running throughout the year that run once a week during the week or on Saturdays. These courses are ideal for teachers who are looking for part-time or supplementary work. There are many English courses running over the summer (July and August) too.

Commitment to your success and job placement

The TEFL program in Hong Kong proceeds on the notion that EFA's work with students is not over until that student is working and happy in a job of their choice teaching the skills they learned during the program. And because EFA's TEFL course is a highly respected, fully accredited and well established program in the burgeoning Hong Kong English education system, EFA has the knowledge of and connections to most, if not all, education jobs in the region and can help students find the perfect job for them.
